I've been hiking almost every day over at Tumamoc Hill which is only about 8 minutes away. It's a short hike, but quite the incline and a great work out.
The road is paved so it's easy to traverse and a great work out so it's quite popular. Trying to find a parking spot in the morning can be quite challenging.
The hike up is quite beautiful and the view of Tucson and the surrounding mountains is quite awesome. Definitely worth the walk up.
Once you get to the top, it's really not quite so wonderful. There is a radio or cell tower, generator and some type of building. There's also two domed facilities that appear to be telescopes of some kind.
It's interesting but not so attractive really. Here's some photos of the top, and the scenery on the climb.
